Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has raised a new controversy in town. This time she has been loud and clear regarding the ongoing and existing progression of item songs in Bollywood and the matter of objectification of women associated with it. At a recent event, Azmi discussed the hidden potential of these item songs and the damage they can cause to the society. While pointing out Kareena Kapoor Khan’s extremely loved on screen sizzle in “Fevicol Se”, she contented, “I have reservations against item numbers. That’s because I think if a top most heroine is singing I am tandoori murgi, swallow me down with alcohol, it’s not a laughing matter. It’s a serious issue. One person wrote the song, a few more got it made but it was watched by crores of people. They also saw their 6-year old kids singing and dancing on it. Don’t you have a responsibility? It’s not fun”.

On the other hand at a recent interview given to Hindustan Times, Kareena mentioned the fact, “objectification of women is pretty hypocritical. Every night club, every party listens to “Baby Doll” to “Chikni Chameli” To “Fevicol”. I don’t understand the fact why people don’t get it. You are the same people who are asking us and playing these songs at weddings. Everybody loves to listens to them and everybody watches them. There is nothing disgraceful about it”.

Almost outraged during her discussion with media, Shabana claimed that it is good to celebrate your sensuality but this is not actually a celebration, but surrender. According to her, everything depends on the camera that is capturing the actress and not the kind of clothes she is wearing.

Well! Both Kareena Kapoor and Shabana Azmi are amongst the most celebrated actresses of their times and keep opinions worth a million shares. Its important to realise with whose perspective and point of views, today’s generation agrees more, after all Bollywood is all about existence of multiple panoramas.
