Salman khan, born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, The Superstar in Bollywood  famously known as Bhaijaan, Dabangg Khan, Sallu. He is an actor, television presenter and also a Philanthropist. Salman was born on 27th December 1965 as the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and Sushila Charak. He has two brothers Arbaaz khan, Sohail Khan and two sisters, Alvira Khan and Arpita Khan. He studied at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. However later, he joined St.Xavier’s College in Mumbai.

Salman Khan grew up in a family where his father was involved in Bollywood. “Biwi Ho Toh Aisi” (1988) is his first debut movie where he was starred as a supporting actor. In the year 1989, he starred in the movie “Maine Pyar Kiya” as Prem by Sooraj Barjatya. He was nominated for Filmfare Award under Best actor category and the movie also was a box office hit. Later in the year 1994, his movie “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” became the highest earning movie of the year. “Karan Arjun” was also one of the box office hits. In Karan Johar’s “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, he played as a supporting actor. Through this movie, he received Filmfare Award for Best supporting Actor and became a hindi movie star.

Khan’s performance in the movies like “Jab Pyaar Kissise Hota Hai”, “Saajan”, “Patthar Ke Phool” and so on were highly appreciated by the public. whereas movies like “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Biwi No.1, Tere Naam, No Entry earned him the nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award.The actor had a turning point in his acting career when he starred the action-thriller “Wanted” by Prabhu Deva thereby earning him high status in the Bollywood industry. Salman’s next action movie “Dabangg”, set the record for the highest grossing movie earning Rs 808.7 million in its first week. Some of his other hit movies are “Body Guard”, “Ready”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, and the sequel of “Dabangg”; “Dabangg 2”. These movies raked in a lot of cash for the superstar and it also helped him to gain huge number of fans.

Through his career in Bollywood, he has won hearts of millions of fans and apart from his acting he has also given his voice for many songs for various movies like “Hero”, “Kick” and so on. Apart of him being an actor, singer, he has also hosted some Television shows like “Big Boss”, “Deal ya no deal”, “Dus Ka Dum” and so on. He is also known for his participation in various charities like “being human“.
