Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn reunited after years for ‘Tanhaji’ recently. While the movie did wonders at the box-office, Saif Ali Khan’s comment on history being distorted in the movie created a ruckus for the actor. Saif was brutally trolled on social media and so was his son Taimur Ali Khan for his name. Recently, we had an exclusive interaction with Sharad Kelkar who played the role of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in ‘Tanhaji’ and we asked him to comment on this issue
Reacting on the same, Sharad Kelkar told us exclusively, “I think Saif didn’t mean it otherwise. The comment was blown out of proportion. A journalist had questioned me the same and I told her that you called Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as Shivaji, but others might not like it because a certain designation is given to him, similarly if Saif said something casually, it has been taken out of context. I’ve had interactions with Saif and I find him a very cool guy. Maybe people shouldn’t blow out things as it affects the star majorly when they get trolled on social media.”
Apart from this, we also asked Sharad Kelkar for lending his voice for Prabhas in ‘Baahubali’, on which the actor replied, “S.S. Rajamouli met me personally to figure out if I am fit to lend my voice for Prabhas’ role in ‘Baahubali’. He wanted me to think that I am in the movie and playing Prabhas and following his instructions, I practised very hard to indulge in the character and lend my voice. It was overall an amazing experience while working with S.S. Rajamouli on this movie and I am looking forward to work with him in future.”
He added, “I’ve had interactions with Saif and I find him a very cool guy. Maybe people shouldn’t blow out things as it affects the star majorly when they get trolled on social media.” Kelkar’s performance was praised a lot and a lot of critics went on to say and write that it would be difficult to imagine any other actor in this role if a film on his life is made in the future.
Sharad Kelkar was last seen in ‘Tanhaji’ with Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol. The actor who started his career in a short film has done diversified roles in television, Marathi, Bollywood and South films. While we are also eager to see upcoming projects of our Bollywood stars, we wish everyone a safe quarantine phase!
