Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 releases on July 12. But we caught up on an early screening of the Vikas Bahl directorial and here’s a quick review of the film which also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, Amit Sadh and Nandish Singh Sandhu in pivotal roles
Anand Kumar, the mathematician from Bihar became a household name after his Super 30 coaching class gained fame. Kumar, who teaches 30 students every year, manages to get them all admitted into the IITs. All these students are from underprivileged backgrounds but with a passion for education. Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Anand Kumar in this somewhat fictionalised version of his life which is Super 30.
Super 30 is a crisp film and it is evident from the first scene. They waste no time in establishing Hrithik Roshan aka Anand Kumar’s character of a passionate student from a poor but supportive background. The actor does well as a student but his chemistry with Mrunal Thakur is average.Pankaj Tripathi as the education minister who believes that education is the best business is terrific. He will make you whistle. Aditya Srivastava as Lallan Singh is also first rate.
The cinematography by Anay Goswami is fantastic. The transitions are too good. The background score also elevates the mood of the film. Hrithik Roshan as Anand Kumar is all set to prove that knowledge is not the bastion of the privileged.
